THIS SECTION IS CURRENTLY UNDER REVISION
CROSSWALK AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM is for all youth 6-12 grades from 3-6 p.m. Monday – Thursdays (during the school year). There is no fee.
Here are some reasons why students like our after school program:
“I like to be active after school. I can come and play for a couple of hours before I go home and do homework.”
“Crosswalk is a great place. I get to hang out with my friends in a good environment.”
“We learn about God here. It’s a fun, interesting way to learn about God while hanging out with our friends.”
Activities offered include:
Sports – Basketball, indoor football, volleyball, indoor soccer, dodgeball, etc.
Gaming systems and arcade games - air hockey, ping-pong, billiards, etc.
Arts and crafts (as scheduled).
Each week we have a theme; many students memorize Bible verses related to the theme, and during the week we will have a general assembly when we can talk about how the theme and verses apply to our lives.
Many of the students who participate in the after school program stay for the Wednesday evening GROWTH GROUPS and are active in other activities of FBC's student ministry.
Our after school ministry is staffed by over 30 volunteers who willingly give of their time and talents in order to serve the youth of our community. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer, please contact Brian Proctor.
The only requirements for participation in the after school program are:
1) Fill out an application form;
2) Agree to abide by the Rules for Conduct.
Both of these are available at the front desk. Please ask a staff person for assistance.
Note: Our after school program follows the Henderson County School calendar; we do not have afterschool on holidays, teacher workdays, breaks, or early release days.
