More WEE Testimonies.....
My son, 6 years old now, Ricky Sulo has gone to FBC WEE and loved it. Everyday I would pick him up and he would be so happy. When it was time for him to start kindergarten I was more upset about him leaving. Since he did so well at FBC WEE, I decided to go ahead and start Makenzie a year earlier then I had started Ricky. I love the organization of how the school works. I also love the books that the teachers do for the parents and children at the end of the school year that really takes a lot of time. I feel that FBC WEE has been a very positive experience for both of my children.

Sam is our only child and was a preemie. He was always a little bit ‘behind’ his friends with everything he did developmentally. As a very protective mom, I agonized over sending him off to preschool. Little did I know by leaving him with Mrs. Jull and Mrs. Fendley would be the best decision we had ever made for him. At the time I didn’t know it, as it was obvious by my tears. He was 2 years 8 months when he started; he was only saying words, not even phrases. The first week he sang Happy Birthday while he was playing at home and in less than a month, was talking to us in complete sentences. This was just the first month. WEE school continued to amaze us everyday. The teachers at WEE school have a special gift, something that not everyone is born with. They are truly fabulous and I know that Sam’s life and our life would not be the same if I had not made that difficult decision to send our precious ‘preemie’ to WEE school.

We were new to Hendersonville and looking for a school for our son, Carter. We were told by numerous people that the Kindergarten teachers at WEE School were extraordinary, and they were right! Mrs. Sawyer and Mrs. King are extremely gifted- they combine hands on learning with creative and purposeful, God-glorifying lessons. Not only is Carter receiving a top notch education, but his teachers and helping Carter develop character in a personalized way. My only regret is that there aren’t more grades; he’d be there next year! If a family is seeking a school that goes above and beyond, WEE school will deliver.

We love WEE school! It has been a true pleasure to have our daughter attend for the past 3 years. The staff exemplifies the values of First Baptist Church. They truly care and love our children and families that they serve. WEE school offers a nurturing environment for my daughter to learn and thrive. Chloe was a very shy little girl going into Mrs. Jull and Mrs. Fendley’s class 2 years ago, now she is so excited to go to school every day. Her vocabulary has grown and she has learned so much in the past 3 years. I have no doubt that she has benefited tremendously from attending this preschool. I know that she will be fine going into elementary next year. The teachers take the time to work one on one with our children. And being around other children has helped to develop her social skills that she would not have gotten being an only child at home for the past 3 years. It just melts my heart to know that she is in a Christian environment that has a huge impact on her. And it is the sweetest thing when she comes home and recites a Bible verse or sings a new song that she learned that day, and to see the smile on her face when she talks of her friends. WEE school is a family of loving Christian teachers and staff. They are making a difference everyday, which in turn makes a difference in our community through our children.

WEE school has been a blessing to my family and me. I lost a set of twins at six months before having Noah and that resulted in major separation anxiety issues. I could not stand to be away from him. In the beginning I did not even like any one else to hold him, even for me to shower or eat unless he was asleep. Friends and some family kept pressuring me to enter Noah into a day care so he could become more independent and social but it’s such a scary world, I trusted no one. My sister’s children all went to WEE school and I attended many of their little programs and saw how much the teachers care for the children and their spiritual, social and educational growth. It’s not just a job to them, it is a calling. Noah and I are still very close and experience no separation anxiety any longer. With another one on the way I feel comfortable enrolling Noah more days next year and eventually the new little one because it is so evident just how much WEE school helps shape and mold future Christians.

Our 3 year old has been in preschool for 4 months, 2 days a week. Absolutely loves her class and teachers. This school was the only one we looked at. We had not 100% decided she would go to school, until we visited this school. It was so peaceful, and calm, I, on the other hand was so emotional, did not think I could let her go. She had always been with me at home. Miss Jerry gave Ava and I a tour of the school, and when we were done, we went back to the office and I began to cry. She hugged me and prayed right there that God would guide us on our decision, and then I knew, this was the school for us. The first day of school, Ava was so excited that instead of me leaving her, she took off to play with her new friends and left me. My husband and I are so impressed with the school. Mrs. Babbitt and Mrs. Holbert are amazing teachers, so kind and considerate, loving to Ava. I will never forget my first impression of this school, or Mrs. Holbert hugging me on the first day as I stood there crying because my precious baby girl was leaving me to start preschool. Thank you for being such a blessing WEE school.

John Carswell started WEE at age 2. We began with First Baptist Mother’s Morning Out after my father-in-law Billy Haynes had a heart attack. First Baptist welcomed us with open arms and we continued with the preschool program. John Carswell absolutely loved it. He was eager to go every morning and enjoyed every moment. His teachers, especially the two and three year old classrooms became his family. The four year old classroom gave him the experience he needed to move into kindergarten. We considered the kindergarten program at the WEE school, but John Carswell was adamant he wanted to go full day, thanks to how much he loved his time as the WEE school. He still talks about his time there and some days wishes he were back. Ellie started the WEE program at age 2. Ellie is special needs. Mrs. Marlowe and Mrs. Bass welcomed Ellie into their classroom, as well as myself (I attended to take care of Ellie’s special needs). They treated here like a typical child and included her in all the activities. They even went out of their way to make me have my time too. Ellie moved on to a special needs classroom mid-year, but the WEE program gave us special consideration to come back on off days from her new school to hang out with the students and teachers. It was an incredible experience for Ellie and it won’t ever be forgotten. Thanks to the WEE school for all their hard work, love and support. If we had to do it over again we would do the exact same thing. The WEE school is a wonderful program with dedicated teachers and administrators. We were blessed to be apart of the WEE family.

We love WEE school!
The other day while cleaning out under the sink I found the Spiderman lunch box Casey took with him on his first day of WEE school. I remembered seeing him walk down the stairs with his class after that first morning with Mrs. Holbert and Mrs. Babbitt and feeling so proud. Casey began attending the 3 year old class in the middle of the year. Despite our late arrival, Mrs. Holbert and Mrs. Babbitt made us feel so welcome and showed Casey so much love that we felt at home right away. The next year, Casey attended the school’s 4 year old class with Mrs. D and Mrs. G. They too proved to be wonderful teachers. I’m sure Casey learned many academic lessons in their class. But what always impressed me was how happy Mrs. D and Mrs. G were each morning when Casey came to school. They gave him lots of hugs and smiles each day. I think their positive attitude helped him enjoy coming to school. After finishing the 4 year old class, we decided to enroll Casey in the WEE school’s pre-k class for the next school year. This was partly to give Casey more time to prepare for kindergarten and partly because we were so happy with the school. I’m sure we made the right decision. In Mrs. Pace and Mrs. Kittrell’s class Casey was one of only nine students. The small class size and the dedication of his teachers helped make sure Casey knew everything he needed to know when he began kindergarten this year. Once again, the love and warmth Casey’s teachers showed him made his year in pre-k a happy time. I have nothing but good things to say about WEE school and many happy memories of our son’s time there. I’m sure he too will one day look back on his time in preschool and smile. Keep up the good work.

Before Mikey started WEE school this past September, 2009 he had only stayed with mommy, daddy and nana. I was very worried with how he would react and if I could ever feel comfortable allowing someone else to care for my son. We now feel very blessed to have come to WEE school and look forward to Mikey continuing here for the next 3 years! Mrs. Bass has been the most wonderful, patient and understanding teacher I have ever known. Mikey talks constantly of all his teachers and still talks about Mrs. Kittrell. He looks forward to going to ‘school’ everytime and wants to go everyday. I feel he is learning so much more than I could have taught him alone, both academically and socially. All of the staff have been very friendly and happy in all of our encounters Thank you!

Hendersonville is so greatly blessed by the ministry of First Baptist WEE school. All five of our kids were part of the preschool, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten programs. The staff and programs are fun, Christ centered, and creative, also loving. The kindergarten at WEE school is one of the very few remaining half day programs which I value personally. The scholarship program offered by First Baptist enabled our twin boys to attend per-kindergarten and kindergarten for which we are very thankful. First Baptist WEE school has been a tremendous blessing to our family.
