SCHEDULE YOUR GIVING
We serve a generous God. Everything that we have belongs to Him and we want to be good stewards. We believe our attitude towards money and possessions matters. That’s why we want to be wise and generous with both. We also want to make the process of giving as simple and easy as possible by setting up recurring giving.

WHERE YOUR GIVING IS GOING
-
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 9:7, "So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." Those who follow Jesus Christ have the honor and opportunity to support the ministry of the local church through "cheerful giving." Giving is as much a part of discipleship as is growing in the knowledge of God's Word, prayer and serving. The ministry of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville is supported by the generous gifts of its members and friends. Each year a detailed annual budget is approved by a vote of the congregation. All spending is guided and controlled by the annual budget. A copy of the budget is available by contacting the Finance Office at 828-693-3493 ext. 111.
-
FBC is also committed to supporting a number of local ministries who serve our community in a variety of ways. Through our budget we give monthly support to ministries that include: Interfaith Assistance Ministry (IAM), Henderson County Rescue Mission, The Storehouse, Open Arms Pregnancy Center, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army and Blue Ridge Jail Ministry.
-
We are very involved with missions throughout the world with church planting movements and global disciple making. In 2018, FBC is working in missions in Haiti, Russia, Honduras, Cuba, Mexico, and Central Asia. We are also committed to the Lottie Moon Offering with the work of the International Mission Board.
-
FBC is committed to Reaching the Unreached Nations right here in our own country. Presently we are involved in outreach in the US to people from Central Asia. We are also committed to the Annie Armstrong Offering with the work of the North American Mission Board. Each year our annual support of missions through our budget and special offerings totals nearly 22% of all contributions.
-
In addition to funding the ministries of the church, through our budget we support the ministry of the Southern Baptist Convention through the Cooperative Program and the work of our local baptist association. Ten percent (10%) of every dollar given to FBC is given to the Cooperative Program. One percent (1%) to the Carolina Baptist Association.
Planned Giving
During your lifetime, you may work forty years to accumulate assets and spend ten to twenty years conserving that accumulation. Through good planning, another wonderful chapter in life’s testimony can be completed. However, some people may take two hours or less to plan for distribution of the assets. Too many times there has been little prayer or planning and their last chapter becomes burdensome for family members and fails to reflect their values.
In your Christian walk with the Lord, you understand that through proper planning, a legacy of love and care that you leave for your family and friends can be encouraging and even inspiring. Indeed, the Bible tells us, “If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” 1 Timothy 5:8 (NIV).
Being a “good and faithful servant” includes creating a plan. This important stewardship of the things that God has entrusted to you can both protect and provide for your family. Through the Southern Baptist Foundation First Baptist is able to provide you with a document that will show you how to enhance their security by updating your estate plan with a will and planning for your potential future medical decisions.
This guide is designed to encourage you to think about how you want your assets to be distributed at death and to assist you in gathering the information your attorney will need. With this guide, the process will be much easier, less expensive and fulfill your desires for family and the Lord’s work. Click on the link below to download the guide.
